Through her illustrations and portraits, Linda McFarlin takes us back to the time period between 1700 and 1870. With the help of re-enactors, historical diary entries, and research, she has concentrated on a large body of works to give you portraits and scenes from a perspective of the true American heritage.
Linda McFarlin is a realist artist who focuses on the principles of perspective and value. Through keen observation of her subject, she renders the realness of the subject through the texture and light that surrounds it. In each portrait she has created the character and emotions visible in the faces of the Native American people, mountain men, longhunters, militia, and skilled crafters of the period.
